NH Saves Button Up Zoom Meetings

How to use Zoom for a Button Up presentation

General User Requirements:

  • Internet access (WiFi or better), web browser & email address
  • Computer (preferred) or tablet with sound (smart phone screens are too small)
  • Computer-based microphone (recommended), or telephone access
  • Optional: web video cam (will use sparingly — can be an Internet bandwidth issue.)

Zoom Setup:

You will be viewing slides and interacting with the instructor in real time via an Internet-based Zoom Meeting computer window. Think of this Zoom window like a screen in a classroom. You also need to hear and interact with the instructor, and preferably with a microphone.

Check out this one minute video on joining Zoom meetings. It is also a good way to test your Internet connection:

You can also test your visual and audio connection before the meeting officially starts, either by:

  • Joining a Zoom test meeting: https://zoom.us/test
  • Joining the actual Zoom meeting before it starts, and test features

Zoom Tips:

  • If not familiar with Zoom, set it up before the meeting time. It can take a couple of minutes.
  • With device-based audio, the Zoom web link should be all you need to connect to the class.
  • Zoom controls are typically at the bottom of Zoom screen, particularly audio on the left. Use the “test your audio connection” feature, both for speakers/headphones as well as microphone.
  • Zoom has a “Chat” feature, with text messages that can go to everyone or just to the instructor
