Virtual Energy Assessments

with a Certified Energy Auditor

Pent up and bored at home due to COVID-19, but still thinking about your continuing high heating and cooling bills or what you can do to combat climate change?  Here’s an opportunity to help with all three problems!  During this difficult time, when home energy audits and insulation projects are both shut down, you can still safely move forward with efforts to save money and reduce your fossil fuel usage.    You can now get a 60-90 minute “virtual” home energy assessment!   Using your smart phone, you will FaceTime with PAREI’s BPI-certified energy auditor, Ted Stiles, while you walk him through your home and basement.

Ted Stiles has been a friend of PAREI’s since 2007 when he became a solar energy raiser volunteer and hosted one at his home. Since that time he changed professions from teaching at New Hampton School to becoming an energy auditor and program manager for Yankee Thermal Imaging.

It will be a question and answer session as you walk through your home where you will learn some practical tips, facts about building science, and opportunities for energy savings in your home.  Using measurements you provide and the details of your on-line property tax card, he can put together a proposal of specific work for your home, including costs and savings for each measure.  If you collect one years worth of your heating fuel usage (just call your oil or gas company), he can also see if you qualify for the NHSaves rebate program through NH Electric Cooperative or Eversource, which should be back up and running in May or June.  If your home qualifies (even many newer homes do!), you can get up to $4,000 of matching funds for energy improvements on your home!

The cost for this new and unique virtual home energy assessment is $85.  Order and Pay for your energy assessment by 1) going to this link and 2) then Robbin Adams, PAREI Office Manager,  will connect you with Ted Stiles to set up your appointment.

Please note:This service will be provided using Facetime so you will need an iphone, ipad or mac laptop as you will need to walk around the house with it.  We recommend that you have broadband connection capable of streaming video smoothly.
